Our Marriage

We got married in January 2005, and it was the happiest day of both of our lives. We are so thankful to have been blessed with a great five years. We are so lucky to have found each other. The only difficulty with our marriage has been that we are unable to share our love with a child.

We both love children and started trying to have a baby immediately after getting married. Unfortunately, a biological baby wasn't in the cards for us. After many years of fertility treatment, we decided to find another way of fulfilling our dreams of having a child.

We have a marriage based on love and affection. We communicate well and always make each other laugh! Humor is very important to both of us. We're ready to share our lives with a child and are very happy that you're taking the time out to learn about us.

Hi! I'm Daniel. I'm 31 and I'm a clinical psychologist specializing in anxiety disorders. Many of my patients are children, so I spend most of my day helping them and their families, and know a lot about their needs. I also teach others how to effectively and compassionately parent children who are oppositional and have ADHD. Through this experience, I am familiar with helping others be the best parents they can be, under difficult circumstances.

I knew for a long time that I wanted to be a psychologist. Ever since I was a child, my friends have always turned to me for advice. Even now, my friends still call me for with questions about their children's behavior, such as developmental milestones, getting them to sleep, dealing effectively with temper tantrums and improving their social skills. Between my job and my friends, I spend a lot of time helping other people's children and can't wait to have my own children to love and care for!

I have many other interests as well, including fencing, bike riding, and hiking, and I enjoy reading science fiction and fantasy novels. When I was a child, I enjoyed model building and painting, interests which I would like to pass on to a child. As I grew up, parents saw that I had a good rapport with their children, and often asked me to babysit.

When I met Sarah in 2004, I knew the next stage of my life was officially beginning. The minute I saw her smile and laugh on our first date, I knew I was hooked. Shortly after, I knew this was the woman with whom I wanted to spend the rest of my life. She has always been the woman with whom I wanted to have a family. Sarah is so warm, affectionate, and a quick thinker, I knew then that she'd make a wonderful mother. This was confirmed when I saw how easily she interacted with my friends' children. She is a great problem solver, often seeing a number of possibilities in order to overcome obstacles. Five years later, we are hoping our dream of having a child will finally come true, so we can give a child the best home possible.

Hi! I'm Sarah. I'm 29 and I'm a software engineer for a financial software company. I have a masters in computer science and am the "nerdy" one of the two of us. :) However I have so many other interests as well that when people meet me outside of work, they can't believe I'm a computer person.

I was on the fencing team and debate team at college. I love to swim, love writing, reading, hiking, traveling, and bike riding. Daniel and I often go bike riding together when the weather's nice! We also jog together, as our health is very important to us.

I come from a large family. I have four sisters, whom I'm very close with. Daniel has only one brother and always wanted sisters, so he was very happy to inherit four of them when we married!

I have wanted children for as long as I can remember. I was so happy when I met Daniel. He was not only perfect for me in every way and he not only made me laugh at his jokes, but I knew he would make the perfect father some day. He is so patient and easy to talk to. Watching him with our friends' kids, as well as my own nieces and nephew, made me realize that he would be a perfect father. He played with them, listened to them, joked with them, and even before we were married, they saw him as an uncle. I can't wait to see Daniel playing with our children.
